Escape to Broken Bow

I went with the family to Broke Bow, Oklahoma to stay at the new cabin our friends, the Epners built. The cabin was incredible, I can't imagine a more luxurious or spacious cabin in such a rustic, woodsy setting. It was tremendous. The weather changed constantly while we were there. We had warm sunshine, cool, cloudy periods, thunderstorms, and gentle, misty mornings. I got in a five mile hike with my son, who, at age 12, is now in better shape than I am. He sprinted the last 50 meters of our hike, up hill, just for fun. My legs declined his invitation to join him in the last burst.

The genius of Valerie Light-Anderson

OK, OK,
She's my sister, so I'm a little biased. Still, you gotta admit, she is a fantastic painter. And yes, she is represented by
Chattham Gallery, which has its first group show, March 28 at 7 PM.

OK, this is the big week. I am installing the old Pompeii wall covering in a luxury high rise in Dallas, I am working on a new painting in my gallery/studio titled "The Vase Outside", I am completing the final painting tasks in the studio, I am preparing to go on a short spring break vacation at the end of the week, I am finishing the invitation and getting it mailed to about 500 people....my mantra continues...."I'll sleep in April".

Here is a painting that I did on one of my family's prior spring break vacations. This painitng was from a photo I took in Tanyard Springs, Arkansas. This week we head to Beavers Bend, Oklahoma. We will be staying at an amazing cabin build by Peggy Epner and her husband Mike. (they had it built--they didn't build it with their bare hands) Peggy is one of the tremendous artists I am representing in my gallery.

I will no doubt be bringing my painting with me. Peggy had an awesome studio built into the cabin, so I will be taking advantage of that.
